The Princess Has Arrived!!!!!

Jilly Rose just got her new castle and couldn't be happier....we made a little apartment out of the bottom area, laid out a new rug, put up a shelf for her books, and a lamp so she can read if she likes. The pictures tell it all. Jillian was a great little helper, she had allen wrench and screw driver in hand from the moment I brought it home. Little girl, I love you, enjoy your new castle

Jillian and I out and about this weekend......lets see we went to 4 different parks, the Seattle Boat Show, and even rode the bike around the neighborhood a few times, girl wears me out!! Love spending time with my princess.

Officially Joining the Xbox Team

It's official, as of today I am now over in the Xbox Division and no longer working within MSN. I'm joining the Xbox New Media Team, operating under the title of Service & Operations Planning Manager. Working in MSN for the past 6+ years has been an amazing experience, one that has taught me a tremendous amount about operating in the advertising/online space. I'm really looking forward to bringing that experience and knowledge to bear in Xbox, they have alot of great ideas and plans for the future that I'm excited to be a part of.

For all my peeps in MSN, don't fret!!!!......I'll still be showing my face around RedWest, and I'll certainly not miss any 'CSO Fun Brigade' events. So for the next 3 weeks I'm going to enjoy my vacation time and do my best not to think about work.....until next time, CHEERS!!!!

Snow-Time Nightmare in NW

Take ice, snow flurries, power-outages and of course some of the worst drivers in North America and what do you get? Basically your everyday suburban nightmare.....check-out the commute pic, yes read that correctly, 11mins past midnight and the freeway is completely stopped. there were actually folks running out of gas and abandoning their cars! Of course some of us found some time to play, Seth took pics of riding his quad just to rub it in, while other were suffering.

CoosBay Quad Trip - Oct 06

First time at the OR dunes, and I gotta say it was the best riding I've EVER done......there is no place better to ride that I have either riden, read or heard about! The only downside....we only had a day and a half to ride. I see a week long trip as soon as winter is over.

Lots of good stories,....short version...Luther is an absolute SAVAGE!!!!! Every 5-10 minutes he was blowing the tires off the buggy, flipping it end-over-end, or jumping literally 4-5ft in the air. Crazy man!!! The rest of us took the longevity approach trying to sqeeze as much fun in the sun as possible for the little time we were there. Check out the pics:

Quad Trip - July 30th 2006

So what started off as a great day of riding quickly turned into one of those days that makes for great stories, but you would have rather avoided all together. LB was in rare form, as usual, getting buck-wild as soon as the quads were off the trailer......you just knew it was going to be one of those days that someone gets into a 'situation'. A couple hours into riding we found ourselves on a very narrow trail, barely wide enough for the quads, with a 50+ foot cliff on one side. Alittle nerve racking to say the least, we were often jumping off our own quad to help one another thru some very tough sections. So coming back thru the same trail, but the opposite direction, we found ourselves at a smal fork in the trail....go left and you have to confront some very large bolders, go right and you face a very large elevated tree root and a 50+ foot drop off. Seems logical, go left and ask for help if you get stuck.....LB had a different plan, he's going to use speed to jump up the root and escape sliding backwards and off the cliff. Well his plan didn't work out so well and he found himself rolling with the quad 30-35 feet down the cliff until some tree's luckily stopped the both of them. After some moaning and groaning, LB surfaced with relatively no injuries....some minor bruises and scratches, oh and a foot peg to the groin was the extent of it.

Now came the interesting part, how the hell do we get the quad up out of a 35 foot hole that is vertical...keep in mind the quad weighs over 300lbs. Seth rode for an hour back to the truck and grabbed every loose strap we had on hand, we figured out pretty quickly that we weren't going to be able to successfully winch the quad back up to the trail with only the straps. So Plan B,...have Seth ride back to the truck again, load all his gear, and drive into town with the goal of finding a cable winch (At 3pm on a Sunday no less), which he would then bring back to us deep in the mountains....basically a 3hr turnaround. It goes without saying we were not looking forward to sitting in the cold and rain for 3hrs. About 20 mins after Seth left us to start heading back to his truck, 6 guys riding Moto-X bikes came thru the trail. The lead guy stops and ask's if were ok, I of curse point down the mountain to where LB and the quad are....he's like, "Holy crap, your boy down there? Is he ok, you guys need help?" I'm like, "Hell yeah, but not sure what you can do for us".....just then all his friends jump off their bikes and their feeling confident they can simply pull the quad up the hill. Mind you, all these guys are pretty big, 3 of them are probably 250lbs. I'm skeptical of course, that was until one of them jumped down the hill to where the quad was and started it up. I'm like, what the hell is this guy doing......their plan, have one guy essentially ride the quad up the vertical face of the cliff while his buddies pull the quad via strapes.....well, lets see what happens, we have nothing but time on our hands, right? Literally within a minute and a half they had the quad up and off the cliff at the top of the trail.....these guys were SAVAGES!!!!!!! I guess you had to be there, but trust me when I say it didn't look possible. Pure SAVAGES!!!!!! Love it!!! This is w2hat the whole ATV/Offroad community is all about, have a good time and help others out along the way. Whoever you guys were, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! You saved our ass!

So that pretty much ended our day,....but we left with some good stories & some great jumping sessions (see pic's).

Back from Orlando, feeling sleep deprived.....but somewhat energized What a great time we had in Orlando. Crashed My Quad #2

Soooooo, thought I learned my lesson. A couple of weeks later I managed to catch a tree root with my front tire and rolled my quad, better put the quad rolled me under it and spit me out in a ditch. Lucky for me I have strong friends, Seth pulled me out of the ditch and put me back on my quad. This time though the damage was a little more severe....

Damage Report:

Quad: another broken fender, bent handle bars, lots of scratches
Donnie: broken leg, bruising from from toes all the way up to my knee, several weeks of bed rest

Just another day quading. I'm writing this 8 weeks after the fact, so I'm in alittle better mood than when I couldn't move off the couch.

Crashed My Quad

Well, I took my first spill on my quad.....busted my ass! Seth and I had everything packed after a long days ride, and I decided to take one last quick spin. Did a couple donuts, the rear wheel caught a rock and next thing I knew it buck me off. It flung me about 6ft and I landed flat on my tailbone....it hurt like a mother.

All said the damage went some like this:

Quad: broken front fender
Donnie: Cuts and bruises to right arm & shoulder, very swollen tailbone

So I've learned my lesson about riding tired....next time I'll just save it for another day

Jillian turned 4 this month! Can't believe how fast she is growing. Of course she got completely spoiled, getting her own 50cc Quad from Mom and Dad. Can't wait to start teaching her how to ride.
